Caithness Glass Saturday`s Child Paperweight - Blue

A graphite stencil with tiny footprints carved into the surface is used to create the small feet inside. First molten glass is rolled in powder glass colour and then pressed onto the stencil to pick the feet up, a final layer of clear glass is taken from the furnace to encase the colours inside. Once cool the inscription is engraved onto the top of the weight and then in filled with a gold paste.
